Get to Know Dr. Yaritza Vazquez

Dr. Vazquez achieved her Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine, followed by a GPR at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. Finally, in June of 2009, she completed her Residency in Periodontics at Boston University, as well as her Master’s in Oral Biology. During her residency, she mastered periodontal procedures like dental implant placement and cosmetic gum surgery.

Today, Dr. Vazquez is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, and the Texas Dental Association. In 2010, she achieved the great honor of becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, which demonstrates the competition of a rigorous peer review process and a commitment to maintaining high standards of care as a periodontist.

Outside of work, Dr. Vazquez enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Dr. Jan Ortiz, her daughter Zoe, and her son Noah. One of her biggest hobbies is traveling as often as possible and learning about different cultures.
